Subbies Rugby 2019 Season

Through its strategic vision of ‘Sharing the Spirit of the Game’ The Rugby Club Foundation is encouraging the sport of Rugby by supporting the NSW Suburban Rugby Union in their efforts to increase player participation by enhancing the experience of all participants within the game of Rugby.

This year the Foundation’s support specifically assisted Subbies dramatically increase the number and quality of referees and assistant referees available to clubs as well as helping to enhance their innovative app which has reduced the administrative burden on club volunteers and enabled better communication to the Subbies loving masses.

Subbies is one of the largest grass roots Rugby competitions in the world and this season over 1000 games were played, by 48 clubs in 22 competitions, culminating in 86 finals matches and 22 premierships. Kentwell Cup Day on 7 September 2019 produced some memorable Rugby for The Rugby Club Foundation Members who presented their membership card for complimentary entry to the event.

Subbies is grateful to all their partners and are particularly proud to be supported by the great Rugby institution that is The Rugby Club Foundation. This appreciation was evidenced by Foundation Vice President Peter Whittington being afforded the honour, for the second year in a row, of presenting the Kentwell Cup to the victorious Mosman side at T.G. Millner Field.
