With the support of the Foundation, Mid North Coast Rugby have developed Sevens Rugby Competitions for Girls under the age of 18 in both Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

The Foundation’s Grants Committee are pleased to announce that the recipients of the Sir Leslie Herron Rugby Scholarship in 2021 are Mr Mitchell Watts (nominee of NSW Country Junior Rugby Union) and Mr Liam Andrews (nominee of Sydney Junior Rugby Union).

As the 2021 season kicks off, Subbies are pleased to congratulate Craig Brinnand and Danny Hinton from Hills Rugby, two graduates of the Subbies Referee Recruitment program.

In furtherance of its strategic vision of ‘Sharing the Spirit of the Game’, the Foundation has during 2020 actively encouraged the sport of Rugby throughout the State of New South Wales by providing financial support to the NSW Rugby Union and its affiliates.

The 2020 rugby season has been a tough one for grassroots rugby clubs of all sizes both on and off the field. Fortunately, a number of clubs and organisations across New South Wales have benefited from substantial financial grants provided by The Rugby Club Foundation.

It is wonderful to be recognised by The Aussie Rugby Show for our contribution to grassroots Rugby. Watch their 21st episode filmed in front of our Spirit of Rugby Wall, showcasing a collection of our memorabilia, at Rugby Australia House.

In the 2019-2020 Financial year the Foundation provided over $328,000 in grants to grassroots Rugby programs. We are pleased to be in the position to continue to offer grants through this program, and are proud to now open the next round of applications for 2021.

Classic Wallabies, with the support of The Rugby Club Foundation have been Sharing the Spirit of the Game across NSW, running clinics for hundreds of juniors. The Rugby Club Foundation thanks the Classics for supporting community Rugby and looks forward seeing more and more juniors taking part.
